I stayed in the large cabin every summer from about 1995 until 2003 for a couple weeks every August with my family. We stopped going because my father (the organizer and outdoor enthusiast) passed away in 2004. I hope to go back one day with my family.

The lakes are gorgeous, the scenery is awesome and there are TONS of hidden treasure spots along the lake that you learn about the more you're there. I can think of several right now.

Just an FYI - if a member of your group has a disability requiring oxygen or wheelchair the state park will allow for a vehicle permit back there (we had to do it with my Grandpa). OH! And there is plenty of wildlife...we've seen snakes, deer, beavers, loons and several other animals. Luckily never any moose or bears!!

I love that place so much and can't wait to go back some day!!

Simply amazing!

Jane, I have tears in my eyes reading this story. What an incredible happy ending! What a gift he will have for his birthday. I salute you for taking the time to look up the person on the computer and then to follow through with a phone call. How delightful!

Thank you Jane for writting that, very interesting, I love it, could almost smell the smells, I can remember Grandma Brandt's house being the same way, no heat upstairs, we are very spoiled these days, if were cold we turn up the heat, if were hot we turn on the air. Your writting makes a person feel like you are right there. Thanks again.
